Shelley Kay Teel, 47, rural Peru, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at her residence.
Born April 16, 1964 in Peru, Indiana she was the daughter of Richard Lee and Karen Ann Correll Smith. On May 19, 1990 in Flora, Indiana at the First Christian Church, she was married to Randy Ralph Teel.
She had worked at American Stationary in Peru. She enjoyed collecting stamps, camping, cross stitching, and riding Harley Davisdon motorcycles. Always enjoying an adventure, Shelley has been sky-diving and just recently went on a hot air balloon ride.
Survivors include her husband, Randy, Peru; mother, Karen Cadwallader, Mexico; her children, Justin Aaron Newlin and wife Amber, Comanche, OK; and Christina Marie Caston and husband Ralph, Elkhart; and Jason Teel, Flora; sisters Penny Hall and husband Tracy, Peru; and Patricia Coffman and husband Chris, Macy; and Kristi Archbold and husband Tom, Fort Wayne; brother, Wayne Smith and wife Joni, Peru; three grandchildren, J.J. Newlin, Amaya Caston, and Jayla Teel; mother-in-law, Berdena Teel, Flora; sister-in-law, Vicki Horsley and husband Jack, Lebanon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Smith, stepfather, Charles Cadwallader, and father-in-law, Arnold Teel, and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home in Flora, Indiana. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
Visitation will be from 2-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver and from 11 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home in Flora.
