William Harrison Armstrong

William Harrison Armstrong, 86, Peru, died on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
Born August 5, 1923, in Bunker Hill, he was the son of William Jackson and Zella McGowen Armstrong. In July 1946, he married Jessie Leona Alderfer, and she preceded in death on May 14, 1996.
He was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church, the American Legion, Peru, and VFW Post 2067.
He was retired from Markhon in Wabash.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Clark, Peru; one son, Eugene Armstrong, Denver; seven grandchildren, Bill Wilken, Leslie Havens, Angie Armstrong, Joe Hudson, Joseph Armstrong, Billy "Bear" Armstrong, and Theresa Phillps; and nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Armstrong, Florida; Frank Armstrong, Kokomo; and a sister, Mary Ann Smith, Tipton.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Armstrong; one brother, Joseph Armstrong; four sisters Norma Richter, Louise Cherry, and Betty Bullock, and Sue Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Mexico Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
