William “Bill” Albert Spitznagle, 73, Peru, passed away at 11:09 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born October 9, 1947, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Victor Jacob and Ethel A. (Pearson) Spitznagle. On June 26, 1982, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to Nancy Gartland, and she survives.
He was a 1965 graduate of Peru High School and later joined the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He retired from KMH Systems in Logansport and was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Spitznagle, Peru; five children, Michele Anne (Jason) Eaton, Iowa; Gerri Ann (Chris) Braley, Peru; Jaclyn Kate Spitznagle (Chad Daniels), Fischer, Texas; William “Pete” Victor (Brittainy), Marengo, IL; Walter Jacob Spitznagle, Carmel; five grandchildren, Isaac and Zoey Braley, Peru; Emery Spitznagle, Westfield; Patrick and Nolan Eaton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vicki A. Little.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at McClain Funeral Home, with military rites presented at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Military Rites Unit or American Huey Museum.
