Willis Dale “Bud” Marburger, 92, Peru, went to be with Jesus at 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at his residence.
Born August 26, 1929, in Miami County, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Edward “Charley” and Ruth A. (Hoover) Marburger. On January 24, 1948, at the home of the late Rev. C.F. Golden, near Denver, he was married to the love of his life, Joyce Ellen Dillman, and they celebrated seventy-two years together before she passed on October 11, 2020.
Bud was a 1947 graduate of Deedsville High School. He and Joyce owned and operated Marburger Ready Mix concrete business in Peru for over thirty years. He was a member of the Denver Baptist Church and was a member of the Indiana Masonic Lodge since 1959. He enjoyed fishing with his friend, Dean Moore.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joe (Kyletta) Marburger, Peru; grandchildren, Melissa Marburger, Mindy Marburger, Kyle Marburger, Jeff (Kelly) Marburger, Jason Marburger, and Jessica (Mike) Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Conner & Lucas Shannon, Lydia, Alexis, and Gracelyn Marburger, Morgan Wimmer, and Nicholas Magee. Bud was also very thankful for his and Joyce’s caregiver over the past two and a half years, Pam Hiles.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Charles Dale Marburger; parents; and nine siblings, Esther Sowers, Marjorie Henson, Kenny Marburger, Clarence Marburger, Nora LaBounty, Noma Glassford, Virginia Ray, Charles Marburger, and Barbara Lowry.
Private family services will be held at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Dr. Mark Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
