Wilma I. (Bryant) Casper

July 12, 1918 — March 4, 2015

Wilma Irene Casper, 96, formerly of Perrysburg, Indiana, went home to be with Lord on March 4, 2015, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.

Born July 12, 1918, in Rochester, Indiana, she was the daughter of Guy and Ruth Sanders Bryant.  On August 23, 1936, she was married to Jacob Casper, and he preceded her in death.

She attended Columbia Elementary School in Rochester, Indiana, and she was a 1936 graduate of Rochester High School.  Throughout her working years, she was employed with Topps Manufacturing Co. and Hart, Schaffner, and Marx.  For six and a half years, she was a medical secretary in Bourbon, Indiana.

A woman of faith, she was a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church for twenty-five years and the Perrysburg Baptist Church for thirty-five years.  She was a teacher of the Bible for over fifty years, having taught Sunday School and leading Bible studies.  She held positions as Children’s Director and Youth Director in each of her churches.  She loved art, photography, and music.

She is survived by her children, Linda Demorest and husband Thomas, Boise, Idaho; two sons, Lawrence Casper and wife Sharon, North Manchester, Indiana; and Lyle Casper and wife Denise, Effingham, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jean Bryant and Dortha Weigle; and one brother, Donald Gene Bryant.
A celebration of life service for Wilma will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.  Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
